Conversations About Equality… A coach-led discussion with women about equalityAugust 26, 2020
Are you ready to celebrate and discuss the ongoing work of equality for women?
- When you hear the phrase “women’s equality” what comes to mind?
- Where do you see that we have made progress around equality for women? Where is there still work to be done?
- Where have you personally experienced inequality as a result of being a woman?
- Why is women’s equality important?
- What would your workplace, state, nation, and world look like if women’s equality goals were met? What can we do as individuals to move toward this?
Why are we discussing this now? On August 26th, people in the United States of America celebrate Women’s Equality Day.
This date is significant in the history of women’s equality because it was on this date in 1920 that the 19th Amendment was adopted. The 19th Amendment prohibited the states and the federal government from denying the right to vote to citizens of the United States on the basis of sex.
This year is the 100th anniversary of the adoption of the 19th Amendment! Yes, we’ve made progress with women’s equality…and yes, there is still room for improvement.
For our August event we will facilitate a coach-led discussion on the topic of women’s equality. We invite you to join us and add your voice to the mix.
Prior to our event, we encourage you to attend the virtual panel discussion on Women’s Equality hosted by the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce from 4:30 -5:30 pm which is part of the S.H.E. Week 2020 events. Participating in the Chamber program is not required for our event, but it will be a nice complement if you can do both. Click here for information on the Chamber program : https://www.frederickchamber.org/she-week.html
After the Chamber program the Wholistic Woman Community will meet on Zoom from 6-7:30 for a small group, coach-led discussion about women’s equality addressing many of the above questions.
Together we will learn from one another. We will celebrate our equality successes and look for solutions and opportunities for change where there is still work to be done.
Join us Wednesday, August 26, 2020 for a night of enriching discussion about women’s equality while we celebrate Women’s Equality Day.
Time: 6:00 – 7:30 pm ET
